Behind the Effects
Blending - Slowly blends a layer into the background. This can be achieved with photoshop's layer format. It can be used to make objects appear to fade away in animations. As each frame progresses, the opacity meter has to be gradually lowered until the image is faded to your preference.
Strokes - Another Photoshop format which adds a colored outline around a layer giving it more emphasis and contrast to the viewer.
Filters - Photoshop also gives the option to filter out specific pigments in an image or layer. You can customize your own filter with a series of dragging around meters or you can select a library of set filters stored in the Photoshop software.
