Introduction

This web site was designed to show image processing toward animation by William Wang, class of 2008 at West Valley High School, Fairbanks. He was rewarded EPSCoR (Experiemental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) internship to work at IARC (International Arctic Research Center) of University of Alaska Fairbanks, Alaska. The internship lasted approximately 6 weeks and during that time he worked with mentor, Dr. Meibing Jin, while learned some new things about the Arctic Ocean, ecosystem and global climate warming.

The primary goal for Arctic Research is to understand the role of the Arctic Ocean in the global climate warming and how to mitigate the impacts of global warming on the marine enviroment and ecosystem.

During internship, data and images from Arctic modeling results were processed to create AVI animations to visualize scientific results to peer researchers as well as to general public.
